Dee and Mel are just plain awesome. Dee is sweet as ever and has a style that I love. Mel has the best sense of humor that always gets me laughing everything that we meet. And together they are stunners. I could tell at our consultation instantly that they have a relationship that is unwavering and beautiful. So I wasn’t at all surprised that their wedding day was filled with tears of joys. From both of them, family, and friends. It truly was an honor to witness the raw emotions and I loved seeing them through my camera.
There was warm air calming the world as I arrived to Dee’s family home. Dee and her ladies were everywhere getting their hair and makeup done. I was very happy to see Stephanie from Tease and Makeup putting on Dee’s makeup because her working is spectacular. Also my dear friend and very talented videographer, Gavin Law from GavinLaw.tv. I could feel the anticipation from everyone to watch Dee and Mel get married. So once that dress came on, I wasn’t surprised that the tears started early on. Dee looked amazing. And at that point I think we all knew that Mel’s breath would be taken away by her beauty down the isle.
We headed to one of my favorite places in Utica, New York, The Stanley Theatre. It’s beauty is magnificant with gold molding from top to bottom. Mel and their officiant, Mayor Palmieri of Utica waited as Dee gracefully walked the isle to her husband to be. Mel’s tears couldn’t be held back. It was simply beautiful. The type of moment that is unforgettable. After a heartfelt ceremony, Dee and Mel waved their arms in the arms in celebration of their new marriage and the crowd cheered furiously!
We took photographs around The Stanley Theatre and continued on to another Utica staple, The Saranac Brewery. If you’ve never been, it’s a must. Especially if you are a proud resident of Utica! It’s another building filled with unique beautiful and history. Drinks were poured and delicious Lebanese-style Mediterranean cuisine was provided by Zeina’s Cafe & Catering. The Brewery was swarmed with Dee and Mel’s guests and every single room was alive with energy. To get the party going even more was Sdot from It’s The Mov.Em.ent who brought on the best dance music! It was a party, period. And it was so much fun watching Dee and Mel celebrate their new life together. Congratulations to you both!!
