I love how Nicole and Alex met and a lot of it has to do with the fact that they met at my favorite bar, Nail Creek and they enjoy beer as much as I do! 😉 They were introduced and discovered that they’re both copywriters. With coincidence also came a strong connection to each other. And it’s amazing to think that that night and connection built a road to marriage.
Nicole and Alex got marred at St. Mary of Mount Carmel in Utica, New York which is one of the most beautiful churches in this area. Their ceremony was sacred and beautiful and Alex’s expressions were just priceless. After they receded down the isle I caught Nicole and Alex having a moment alone of joy and excitement and I couldn’t resist but capture it.
We headed to Gerber’s 1933 Tavern for drinks and snuck outside to take some photos. Alex and Nicole were absolutely amazing to photograph because they so easily emote and forget that the camera is even there. I’m pretty proud to say that these photos and facial expressions were not directed. That is just how Nicole and Alex naturally are, happy, alive, and in the moment.
Alex and Nicole had a beautiful and I mean BEAUTIFUL reception at the Doubletree at Hilton Hotel Utica. Their first dance was something out of a movie as everyone surrounded them in awe and happiness. And it always feels like a win for me when I’m able to capture emotions. I documented at least a couple people crying tears of joy for these two. The dancing was a riot and had me laughing so hard. And we were all blessed to have Nicole’s cousin sing (and nail) “At Last” by Etta James. Holy cow, what a voice! The day as a whole was just exquisite and it was such an honor to be there to witness it all. Congratulations to Nicole and Alex!
