I can’t say enough amazing things about Sarah and Jonathan. They are my favorite kind of people because they aren’t afraid to live life to the fullest and are passionate about what they love. Whether that be their careers, their relationships with their loved ones, and of course, each other. Jonathan, a producer, director and writer of films and Sarah, a researcher for cognitive neuroscience, met at a night club in Canada and saw each other across the room, above the crowd. They’re both quite tall so just imagine the humor and charm in this moment. And since that very interaction there has been sparks, shocks, and fireworks erupting. You can tell by the way that they look at each other with complete adoration. It’s clear in the way that they hold each other that their love is unwavering. Jonathan even told me on his wedding day that he’s already been calling Sarah his wife for months. He just couldn’t resist. Marrying her was inevitable and he was relieved that the day has finally arrived.
These two lovebirds currently reside in Toronto, Ontario. Because Sarah’s family is from Cooperstown they decided to spend their wedding day in this beautiful upstate New York town. Sarah and Jonathan got prepared for their wedding in these stunning luxury lodges. Tucked into the woods hugging Otsego Lake were the rugged and distinctive log architectures. The ladies were carefully curating musical choices as hairspray floated in the air and makeup was being put on by Timeless Salon and Studio. Poppytree Floral Designs created these gorgeous, ethereal bouquets, boutonnieres, and Sarah’s headpiece that completed her look. I was greeted by Sarah and Jonathan’s dog, Dany whom followed Sarah carefully. It was quite endearing to see how protective she is of her momma. And in the meantime Jonathan and his men were across Otsego Lake waiting for ceremony time.
When it was time to depart the lodges we hopped into a classic Cooperstown trolley and headed to Council Rock for Sarah and Jonathan’s first look by the water. Watching Sarah walk down that grand staircase to her husband to be was breath taking and Jonathan’s reaction was awe, pure astonishment. They were both looking incredible and were pumped to tie the knot in the oldest building in Cooperstown, The Smithy. This is also the place where Jonathan proposed to Sarah so it had a lot of sentimental value to be returning there to get married. How amazing is that? After a beautiful ceremony and officially becoming husband and wife, Sarah and Jonathan went up to the balcony of The Smithy to wave to their guests. Such a fantastic moment and I feel so honored to have been there.
Everyone hopped on to the trolleys and headed to The Cooperstown Country Club where the charming club house is perfectly placed by the water. Cocktails and hor d’oeuvres were served and a warm breeze filled the air. We frolicked around the venue taking photos and we ended on the dock where I loved photographing Sarah and Jonathan just enjoying each other as newly weds. They felt the breeze from the Lake and anticipated the party ahead of them. And a party it surely was. Let’s see here. There was a pig dance, amazing speeches, Sarah surprised Jonathan by singing for him, trivia, a donut station by Schneider’s Bakery, a surprise rock band performed by Jonathan’s best man, Tamir. The list goes on! It was just incredible and so much fun. They all danced into the night and celebrated Jonathan and Sarah well. What a perfect wedding day. I cannot thank them enough for having me photograph their first day as husband and wife. Congratulations to Sarah and Jonathan!
